A strong graphic presence was a must in Australia’s flagship store for French fashion label Zoe Tees. The brief was for the retail shop to mirror the company’s bold and fun marketing approach, integrate the brand’s love heart motif and devise a design that would visually enlarge the long, narrow space. The result – two large, illuminated images dominate the rear wall, creating a focal point as you enter the store and defining the brand’s sense of fun. Zoe Tees’ love heart motif has been used in signage, on a table at the front of the store, in accessories and on door handles at the front of the store – ensuring the design stamps the identity of the space in Doherty Lynch’s signature playful, bespoke approach. The studio has used design tricks to make the small store appear larger, plus created small areas of interest with fine detailing to draw the attention of passers-by inward.
