Doherty Lynch were asked to design the interiors of this new Neil Clerehan house. The client brief was to ensure that each room was designed so that it had something that made it ‘special’ or that gave it a unique identity. Joinery was key to this and units were designed to reflect the clients’ wish for unusual detailing and finishes. However, it wasn’t all about ‘good looks’, Doherty Lynch injected very functional joinery into the spaces to bring about each room’s individual personality. Two key room features include: a long Sen Ash floating bench seat, which links a bathroom to the main bedroom; and a custom designed bedhead with a continuous recess lined in Sen Ash, which has reduced the need for bedside tables and table lamps, and a cupboard in the rear of it for shoe and handbag storage.
