When three friends decided to open a cafe in 2007, they turned to Doherty Lynch to inject their signature love for playfulness and ability to morph an idea into an interior. The Bossy Boots brief was to bring to life this trio’s dream of a fun and cheeky cafe. As  well as the fun element, it was also important to have a relaxed feel and have a high level of comfort. Doherty Lynch introduced a strong  geometric-patterned wallpaper behind the service counter to create a  striking backdrop. The studio then brought in a large circular ply  table, anchored by a pendant above, which highlights the informality  of this cafe and relaxed sense of fun. Little ply stools have been  dotted about the interior and feature a circular cushion with a Moroccan-style pattern. While the interior is a visual  feast, Doherty Lynch says the best thing about this project is the friendly owners and their amazing food.
