The brief for this project was to reinvigorate and add context and fun to a worn, lacklustre working environment for a client in a sports-related field. To meet the brief, Doherty Lynch’s aim was to inject vibrancy and bespoke features.

A central corridor is the hub of the space, with offices off to the right. Here, vibrancy was injected through furniture, accessories and architectural details (plasterboard blades) in key branding colours of orange and blue. Smart desk solutions were created in designated working areas to provide the client with an efficient, relaxed working environment.

Large windows on all walls of the oversized entrance area were taken advantage of by positioning a boardroom and reception area in the area with glazed partitioning for acoustic privacy. Doherty Lynch’s bespoke detailing comes into play in this area with a large-scale ball screen. It not only acts as privacy for the boardroom, but also brings home the sports context. Other elements of contextural surprise are sports-court detailing on tables and flooring.

The key to the success of this interior revamp and remodeling is a change to major finishes, the reselection of carpet, the introduction of key brand colours and bespoke detailing. It’s moved from a tired space to an energised office with a sense of the company’s main line of business.
